In December 2007 planning was granted for the development of 36 lodges at York House Holiday Park. In April 2008 the heavy Machinery moved in and work started to turn the idea of a luxury lodge development into the reality which is Abbots Green.
The plan was to take advantage of the good summer weather and have Abbots Green up and running in Record time, however...the weather had other ideas!
The rain finally relented and work continued apace as the September deadline loomed large.
6 months work, over 20,000 man hours, 5000 tons of hardcore, 2 kilometres of water and gas pipe, 3 kilometres of electric cable, 15,000 litres of diesel, 3000 tons of earth movement... not to mention 2 kilometres of kerb edgings, 400 cubic metres of concrete, 3000 square metres of turf... some blood, lots of sweat and a few tears!
Abbots Green is here!!
